Arnold was Born at Kenyon,  Goodhue County,  Minnesota.  At the time of his induction into military service his age was 23 years and 7 months.  Also at that time he was living at Northfield, Rice County, Minnesota.

Military Service Record:
Arnold was inducted into military service on May 1, 1918 at Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota and was assigned serial number 444,905 and ordered to report to Columbas Barracks, Ohio on May 5, 1918.  He was assigned to Company C of the 53rd Infantry where he served until discharged.  On February 26, 1919 he was promoted to bugler.  From July 6, 1918 to June 12, 1919 he served overseas.  On June 21, 1919 Arnold was honorably discharged as a Bugler.  At that time he was reported as 0% disabled..
