Aslak was born at Northfield, Minnesota on December 2, 1898.

Military Service Record:
Aslak was inducted into the Carleton St. Olaf Unit of the Student Army Training Corps on October 15, 1918 and assigned a serial number of 4,458,325.  On November 13, 1918 he was assigned to Infantry Repl Troops Unassigned, Camp Grant, Illinois.  He was honorably discharged on December 12, 1918.
