Biography: 

Clarence entered the service in September 1940. His basic training was at Camp Claiborne, LA. He took additional training at Trenton, NJ. His overseas tour of duty included stints in Ireland, North Africa, and Italy. He served as a rifleman and wireman and saw action in Tunisia and Italy. He was awarded a Battle Star and Good Conduct medal.
