Biography: 

Ernie entered the service in February 1945. His basic training was at Fort Hood, TX. He took additional training at Camp Beale, CA. His overseas tour of duty included a stint in the Philippines. He served as a truck driver. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific theater service ribbon as well as the Good Conduct and Victory medals.
