Biography: 

Lewis entered the service in March 1942. His basic training was at Fort Bliss, TX. He took additional training at Long Island, NY. His overseas tour of duty included stints in the Philippines. He served as a truck driver and baker. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific service ribbon, one Bronze Star, American theater service ribbons, Overseas Service Bar and the Philippine Liberation medal.
