Civilian: Peter was born June 25, 1892 at Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota. HIs father, Joseph, was born in Horstein, Germany and his mother, Lena (maiden name Seigler), was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Peter resided with his parents at 921 1st Street North in Faribault. He pursued a career as a cabinet maker. His father noted in a reply to an inquiry entitled "the State of Minnesota Gold Star Roll" that Peter was athletic, and that he was a member of the German Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. In this document Peter's father notes that the cause of his death was influenza. He also notes that the care he had recieved was "not very good, but that seemed incidental to Army life."
Military Service Record: Peter was inducted into military service on June 25, 1918 at Faribault as a Private and was assigned a serial number of 3,451,209. His original assignment was with the 871 Repair Squadron of the Signal Corp Aviation Mechanics Training School, St. Paul, Minnesota. On July 13, 1918 he was assigned to the Air Service Mechanics School, St. Paul, Minnesota until his death on October 10, 1918 of lobar pneumonia.
