Biography: 

Ray entered the service in January 1945. His basic training at Fort Ord, CA. He was also at Camp Stoneman, CA and Camp Adair, OR. His overseas tour of duty included stints in the Philippines and Japan. He served as a mail guard and fire fighter. He was awarded the Expert Marksman and Good Conduct medals, as well as the Asiatic -Pacific theater service ribbon.
